Tea sausage received its name in the small Baltic town of Rügenwalder around the middle of the 19th century. The name Tee-wurst or tea-sausage is said to derive directly from the habit of serving sandwiches made with this sausage during teatime. This sausage quickly became extremely popular in its early days but withstood the test of time. To this day it remains one of our most popular products.

Serving suggestions

Salami should be cut into thin slices about 1 mm thick. Only then you can enjoy the full combination of flavors and aromas. It is important to peel the casing before slicing.

Tea sausage is served with all kinds of semi-fat cheeses, mayonnaise and fresh vegetables, whereas those who prefer a stronger flavour will serve it with red pepper chutney or pickled cucumbers.
